Stories and Food | Jason's Chislic

We all love good food. And we all love a great story!

We thought we'd combine some of our very favorite foods, with the stories behind them - to share a bit more about us, and (most importantly) some amazing recipes!!!! We'll start off with Jason sharing a recipe near and dear to his heart: Chislic. Cheers to Chislic & Summer and all things wonderful!

Chislic

Serves 5

  • Shoulder Loin (or beef cut of choice) - 4 pounds
  • Soy Sauce - 2 cups
  • Worcestershire - 1 cup
  • Garlic Powder - 1.5 Tbsp
  • Onion Powder - 1.5 Tbsp
  • Liquid Smoke - 1 tsp
  • Light Beer - 6 oz
  • Large jug of Cooking Oil

Cube beef in roughly 1 inch cubes and place in large container

Add Soy Sauce, Worcestershire, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Liquid Smoke, and 6oz of Beer (ingest the remaining 6-8 ounces)

Mix with hands until the marinade is consistent throughout

Place in fridge and marinate for 2-5 hours

In large pot, Heat oil to 350 Degrees

Drain the raw Chislic and fry to temp (45 seconds for rare - 2 minutes for well done)

Serve with either Ranch, BBQ, or Horse Radish Sauce!

For a "healthier" option you can also grill or bake the Chislic to the desired temp.

Horse Radish Drizzle

  • Sour Cream - 12 oz
  • Pickled Horse Radish - 6 oz
  • Worcestershire - 1 tsp
  • Half and Half
  • Salt
  • Pepper

In a large mixing bowl mix together the Sour Cream, Horse Radish, and Worcestershire

Mix in Half and Half until you have reached your desired consistency

Add salt and pepper to taste
